Finding and Identifying Particles in Snow
You will examine snow to determine what has fallen on it from the sky. You will prepare a report about what you find. You can compare your results with those of students at your school and other schools.
Many tiny particles are floating in the air. Snow provides a simple way to learn what is floating in the air during winter. This is because tiny particles of dust, smoke and plant material are much easier to find and identify when they fall on snow than when they fall on soil, concrete or pavement. In this project we will find and identify particles in fresh snow.
